The guard rails attach to the outer edge of the barriers. The guard rails and curb are type specific. R-2 barriers require R-2 curbs for example. Disconnect both track pieces (the track piece immediately before and after the fault). Turn them over on a hard surface. Ensure that the metal rail tabs at the ends of the rails (there are 8 of them on every track piece) are fully pressed and clamped down to the plastic. Use a stout screwdriver or similar to push them tight. Cleaning Scalextric track. Light cleaning of the track surface is recommended for daily use. We recommend using a damp cloth or very lightly oiled cloth. This removes light grime and dust from the track surface. Wipe surface dry after using a damp cloth. I agree that if you already have a lot of Scalextric track, especially Sport track, as well as Scalextric cars, that sticking with the brand when going digital is an easy choice. Even if a lot of your cars don't have the DPR hatch for easy DPR chipping, many will have digital chip "brackets" inside to hold the chips in a designated spot, which Hi, I received my track for my rally project. I made some tests on a sample track, with good results. Flat, black, shiny track now (after/before photo) : The result is mostly good, even comparing with scx new track : But I'm not 100% satisfied : the metal is still dark on some aeras. Lighter fluid (naphtha) will remove the lubricants and also any rubber that has been deposited on the track. Rubber tires give their best grip on tracks with a coating of rubber. Silicone tires like a spotless track, even a small amount of dust will degrade their performance. The are a few tires I still struggle with, like some Scalextric tires so I replace those with urethane or Ninco/SCX. But to get this to work you need to "rubber in" the track properly, that means running a lot of laps to lay down a thin "rubber film" as the tires wear, and stay away from silicone because they act as an eraser on the rubber film. Then lightly coat just the bit of rubber that meets with the rim - i.e. don't let any get under, between the tyre and rim. It should keep the tyre tight on the wheel and allow you to true them and best of all they're a lot easier to get off again. ABBO. Like. .
